Get the cut fabric for all parts of the made-up from the designated place.
Get the sample or chart or specification and ensure the type of stitch, color thread to be used, hem size etc.
Get the accessories (zip, labels etc.) from the person responsible for it and ensure that they are free from defect and working properly.
1.4 Mark the tailor code no. on the reverse side of the label by pencil .
Set the sewing machine for the required stitch per inch and ensure that the needle is free from bent or other damages.
Ensure that correct color threads are used for stitching and the thread tension is adequate.
Check the machine for any oil droppings.
Start stitching part by part and after stitching, if required, turn back and rub on the stitching. Correct the sizes of the parts if required. White stitching, ensure that the patterns are matched as per the specifications.
While aligning the different parts of the Made up ensure that the face side of the fabric with stickers affixed on the fabric by the cutting department.
Stitch the label and other accessories such as zip, padding, lace etc at required position.
Consult with tailoring in-charge/compare with the approved sample given in case of any doubt.
Check the stitched Made-ups for stitching mistakes such as broken stitch, skip stitch, hem size etc and take mid course correction as applicable.
Trim the loose and hanging threads.
Ensure that the stitched Made-ups conform to the specification / reference sample for pattern or design and special work if applicable.
Ensure the smooth working of the sewing machine while stitching and the Needle breaks to be attended returning the broken needles.
If needle in broken collect all the broken parts and handover it to the Supervisor
