Identify Environment, Health and Safety hazards/ risk associated with the project. Understand thoroughly customer protocols with regard to safety during the kick-off meeting.
Based on this risk assessment, decide the type of safety measure to be implemented for individuals in the project.
Assess and approve of subcontractor’s safety plans.
Carry out regular inspections of the work areas with the respective site incharge/ supervisor and prepare reports.
Ensure safety information is disseminated throughout the workplace via bulletin boards, posters, newsletters etc.
Work in conjunction with the quality engineer and ensure that all equipments are inspected, tagged and handled to comply with the relevant Code of Practice and Standards as mentioned in the Material Safety Data (MSD) Sheet and record the same.
Assist site incharge/ supervisor in accident investigation process and report accordingly. Document findings and recommendations to prevent similar accidents from happening again.
Support/ Conduct safety induction and training is carried out in accordance with project requirements for all new employees of the company (where required) and contract workers. Carry out drills and exercises on managing emergency situations.
Monitor the availability and use of safety apparel and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment – PPE).
Upkeep safety records/documentation of incidents/injuries on the site. Report the same to Corp. EHS incharge and Project head regularly.
Conduct safety audits and facilitate internal & external (Client, Government Officials etc.) EHS audits and make sure there are no major NCs.
Update self about safety methods and standards. Keep policies up-to-date and renew them when new risks are discovered and get it approved from the Corp. EHS incharge.
