RESPONSIBILITEIS: - 

The following would be the details job responsibilities for the position of a Commis. 

  • Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors. 

  • Continually develops culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals. 

  • Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings. 

  • Washes, chops, and cuts fruit, meat, and vegetable items. 

  • Assesses inventory and requests resupply when necessary. 

  • Plates meal items under the chef de parties’ supervision. 

  • Disposes of spoiled items and adheres to sanitation policies. 

 

REQUIREMENTS: - 

The following would be the minimal requirements for the position of Commis 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher certification in culinary arts preferred 

  • 1-2 years of work experience in a similar role 

  • Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Computer literate 

  • Able to lift heavy items 

  • Able to work holidays and weekends 

Experience: - Must have a qualification from a Hotel Management Background such as diploma or a Catering Certificate from a reputed college in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. With an experience of 1-2 years in a similar field in a medium sized restaurant or a mid size hotel. 

Qualification:- Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology or a Craft Course in Food Production.
